Printing on Seeded Paper

There are limitations as to what we can print on the seed paper.

Less is More: Keep your ink coverage to a minimum—maximum 20% coverage.

Use thin lined fonts wherever possible. Anything TOO bold will bleed.

Avoid large solids and make any solids as light as possible.

Avoid photos if possible.

We can only print on paper made with small seeds.

Inkjet technology

Maintains high germination rates.

Sharp 4-color printing.

We use environmentally friendly waterbased inks. We use this printing process when printing on our specially made white seeded paper with smaller, flatter wildflower seeds.

Letterpress Printing & Debossing

We use letterpresses that literally stamps your art into our paper for a classic 3-dimensional look. The beauty of letterpress printing is tri-fold.

Old world charm stands out in our modern world.

The only seeds that get crushed are where the ink is printed.

We can print on any of our seeded paper colors with most any seeds including herb, flower seeds and some tree seeds.

Although there are more set-up costs for printing plates, 1 color letterpress printing is the same cost as full color inkjet printing.

Offset Printing

We can offset print in 1, 2, and 4 color process on our seeded paper with smaller, flatter wildflower or herb seeds. Print quality varies as the seeded paper thickness can vary. Because offset printing relies on pressure from many rollers, germination is greatly reduced and you can expect very little growth. We do not recommend this process, although for a high volume order that is needed quickly, it may be the only option.
